1. During your <\/span>IELTS speaking test <\/b><\/a>, you will have to enter a room where your examiner will be seated. Remember to give a slight knock on the door and say, \u201cMay I come in?\u201d in a pleasant tone.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Before the examiner begins with the actual <\/span>Speaking Test<\/b><\/a> , you will be asked answer <\/span>4 questions<\/b> involving a <\/span>brief introduction<\/b><\/a> \u00a0of your name and your place of origin.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. The examiner<\/b> may begin by saying, \u201cGood afternoon. My name\u2019s Robert Cruz. What\u2019s your full name?\u201d Do not respond by saying, \u201cGood afternoon, Mr. Robert.\u201d Titles are not used with first names in English.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.Introduce yourself by saying, \u201cMy name\u2019s Radhika.\u201d Avoid saying, \u201cMy name <\/span>is<\/span><\/i> Radhika. It is recommended you use a <\/span>contraction<\/b>. Pronounce your <\/span>name slowly and clearly<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Practice standing before a mirror. Check your facial expressions and body language when you introduce yourself. The more you practice, the better are your chances of avoiding any hints of nervousness on the day of the test.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. The <\/span>second question\u00a0<\/b><\/a>\u00a0the examiner asks you is how best to address you. You can respond by saying, \u201cPlease feel free to call me Radhika.\u201d In case you have a difficult name and you wish to just share a short version of your name, go ahead and do so, but don\u2019t spend any time in explaining it<\/span><\/p>\n

6. The <\/span>third question<\/b> will be about where you come from. The best way to respond is with a short elaboration. If you come from Mumbai, you can say, \u201cI come from Mumbai, which also happens to be the commercial capital of India.\u201d Some information on the place (either a speciality or its location, e.g., western India) will help to impress the examiner.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. The <\/span>fourth question<\/b> of <\/span>Part 0<\/b> is where the examiner asks for your <\/span>identification card \/ ID card<\/b>. Hand it over with a smile saying, \u201cSure, here it is.\u201d Use both your hands to hand over the card, holding it from the edge. <\/span><\/p>\n
