Here are five more tips to help you prepare for your <\/span>IELTS reading test <\/span><\/a>.<\/span> In our last blog, we had shared with you the top <\/span>five tips to prepare for IELTS reading tests <\/span><\/a>. So here\u2019s some more easy techniques to get a <\/span>high band score <\/span><\/a>\u00a0in your IELTS examination <\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

i. Remain Focussed<\/b>
\n<\/strong>No matter how difficult the test passage, do not lose your focus. Do not waste time trying to understand any one sentence or word that you are stuck with. Move on and quickly read the whole passage. <\/span><\/p>\n

ii. Highlight or Underline while Reading<\/b>
\n<\/strong>Underline key words and sentences. This includes highlighting facts and figures shared in the test passage. Try taking the <\/span>Reading practice test 1<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meaning of \u201cfalse\u201d & \u201cno\u201d in an IELTS question is that the \u201cinformation is contradictory or opposite\u201d. Don\u2019t make the mistake of thinking that these two words mean the \u201cinformation does not match\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

iii. Follow the Order<\/b>\u00a0<\/b>
\n<\/strong>The questions are always in order of the flow of the passage. Don\u2019t panic by reading the entire passage to find the answer. Just follow the order.<\/span><\/p>\n

iv. Move On<\/b>
\n<\/strong>If you are stuck with a particular question, leave it for the time being. Don\u2019t waste your time in answering questions you are not confident about. You can return to them once you are through with all the questions in all the three sections.<\/span><\/p>\n

v. Do Not Ignore the Instructions<\/b>
\n<\/strong>The questions come with instructions. Some may say: \u2018answer in one word\u2019. Don\u2019t go ahead and write two words when they have asked for a one word response. The best way is to underline or highlight the instructions. <\/span><\/p>\n
